Early intervention Programme s in Rural area


Early intervention is a system of services that helps children with developmental delay and support their parents to encourage the children for milestone reaching.

Shine special school running since 2003 by three special parents and are interested in helping the parent of special children to motivate and encourage them to support for their child independency. After this 20 years of service in serving the special children to enjoy the joy of schooling now, shine taught to serve the children in rural areas where the facility of the therapies are very less

During a survey in around the Madurai district shine came to know the numbers of special children are more and are badly in need of therapy. Developmental delay is a biggest challenge for the children and their parents. It is the challenge to be over come within 5 years of age. So we taught to take-up the early intervention project given by Redington Foundation, Chennai.

In the month of October shine special school and Redington Foundation has signed an MOU to serve the special children of in and around Madurai district with all sorts of therapy to make the child independent. Target areas are selected to find the number of children around Madurai district. Initially target of 50 children are taken who are in need of all the therapies including physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech therapy and special education.

In the execution of the Project the tool used to assess the children is WeeFIM and with the support of Amarseva Sangam Developed Enabling Inclusion App the project is in the process of execution.

Till December,2023 Shine Educational Trust is have 72 service users of 0-6 years of age in Two blocks of Madurai District.

Target age group: 0-6years children with developmental challenges

Type of disability: All sort of disable child who need support for development.

Initially shine planned to worked on two blocks and selected 51 children from then and serving the children of this area.

This EI app helps to record the therapy details and the development of the child through the assessment scale given.
